Tiny little bites to eat are everyone’s favourite thing and we believe it is because you can eat extra and not feel guilty. That’s us anyway.
Which is why High Tea is a good time. Plus, there’s sparkling wine and bottomless coffee involved. What more could you want for an in-between actual meals feast?
Here’s a list of the best spots for High Tea on the Gold Coast next time you want to eat lots of tiny little things and also feel a bit fancy at the same time.
High Tea is sky high at Videre in RACV Royal Pines Resort. On the 21st level, with views overlooking the immaculate golf course below, and the sparkling sea in the distance, you can (and should) enjoy a stunning High Tea experience including a selection of warm scones to start (give us all of those), followed by incredible savoury and sweet plates all made with indigenous flavours and the utmost attention to detail. The Signature High Tea is $45pp with unlimited tea and French Press coffee, the Sparkling High Tea is $49pp including a glass of NV Paul Louis Blanc de Blancs and the Champagne High Tea is $65pp with a glass of NV Champagne Laurent-Perrier La Cuvee. High Tea takes place on Saturday and Sunday 11.00am, 12.00pm and 1.00pm and bookings are essential.

Chapter & Verse
It’s a delightful time at Surfers Paradise Marriott Resort & Spa’s High Tea, award-winning in fact. Chapter & Verse offer a classic version with a fancy modern twist, either inside or out on the deck and you can expect a five-star feast including bites like smoked salmon brioche, salted caramel macarons and lemon meringue tarts. Oh and scones of course – our fave. It’s $42pp and includes a glass of sparkling, freshly brewed coffee and a selection of leaf teas.
Where: Surfers Paradise Marriott Resort & Spa, 158 Ferny Ave, Surfers Paradise
Less High Tea and more High Cheese is what’s up at Pearls Bar inside Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort. Ignite your senses with three tiers of incredible cheeses paired with both sweet and savoury dishes all while overlooking the sparkling lagoons and lush gardens. It’s $50pp or $60pp with a glass of wine from 3pm until 9pm daily.

QT Gold Coast
As with everything when QT Gold Coast is involved, High Tea is a very good time. Taking place in FIXX Café, it’s a quirky experience filled with the tastiest of treats including everything from brightly coloured beach-themed ‘sex on the beach’ beach balls, cakes and slices to the house-made quiche and chocolate popsicle sticks. Add a little something extra to your experience and sip on some delicious Champagne Perrier-Jouet. It’s $49pp with tea and espresso and $64pp with the addition of Champagne Perrier-Jouet.

Paradox Coffee Roasters
Another High Coffee affair takes place at Paradox Coffee Roasters in Surfers Paradise where they not only ply you with tasty eats but will also include their onsite roasted blends made from beans sourced sustainably from across the world. It’s $35pp for the standard sitting and $45 including an Espresso Martini, which we obviously highly recommend. You’ll need to book and generally High Coffee time is between 11.30am and 1.30pm daily.

It’s a Couture High Tea at Le Jardin in Palazzo Versace, bringing a fashionable culinary experience to High Tea. Featuring bright colours, bold textures and distinct out-of-the-ordinary flavour combinations, including dishes like Crab, black olive, roast capsicum and cheddar cheese biscuits and Apple and walnut frangipane tarts, you’ll enjoy an unforgettable experience here from $86.90pp Monday to Friday and $92.90pp on Saturday and Sunday.

Indulge in High Coffee at The Fireplace; eating your way through three-tiers of sweets and savouries inspired by and infused with rich Vittoria Single Origin Blend coffee notes. Take your High Tea to the next level with a decadent cocktail – our favourite options include the Espresso Martini (for obvious reasons) and the Smoking Hot Chocolate (because torched marshmallows). High Coffee is served on Saturday and Sunday from 12.30pm and is $45pp including tea and coffee.
Where: The Intercontinental Sanctuary Cove, Manor Circle, Sanctuary Cove
When High Tea on the ground simply will not do, it’s time to treat yourself to the Four Winds 360° Revolving Restaurant rooftop experience. On Saturday’s and Sunday’s from 2:30pm to 4:30pm, you may choose from a few options. High Tea with tea and coffee is $39pp, High Tea with a glass of Chandon (includes tea & coffee) is $49 and High Tea with a glass of Mumm (includes tea & coffee) is $59. Another RACV Royal Pines beauty, Panorama Lounge also offers High Tea in a contemporary, sophisticated space with translucent bubbles floating underneath a glass dome ceiling on level three. High Tea is delicately prepared by the in-house Chef de Patisserie and includes tea cakes, French pastries, freshly baked scones, finger sandwiches and plenty more delectable seasonal treats paired with an espresso coffee or loose leaf tea, a soft drink or juice, and a tasty glass of sparkling wine. It’s $33pp from 9am until 3pm daily.
