Where to raise a stein for Oktoberfest celebrations

The Gold Coast is getting in on the good times.

Oktoberfest is a time of bulk beer drinking, getting dressed up in traditional attire and dancing the day (and night if you’re committed) away – it’s Germany’s largest festival and the Gold Coast is getting in on the action too.

Here are five events to raise a stein to celebrate Oktoberfest on the Coast over the next month (from north to south).

Chapter & Verse Bar and Lounge
Enjoy a week of Oktoberfest with a German inspired share plate including kransky, sauerkraut and pork belly, plus a Hoegaarden pitcher. Indulge in all of that while you watch the NRL Grand Final on October 6th. From 12noon until late each day and $39 for two people.

Oktoberfeast at Bazaar
Get your leitehosens ready because Oktoberfeast is coming to Bazaar. There’s plenty of reasons to celebrate this hops-fueled week with the best German eats and Bavarian BBQ at Bazaar through the first week of October with authentic cuisine like Schweinebraten, schnitzel, frankfurters and sauerkraut, to name a few.

Oktoberfest on the Coast
Experience the best of German culture on October 5th at the biggest Oktoberfest celebration on the Coast. The Gold Coast Sports and Leisure Centre in Carrara will be completely transformed complete with a giant beer hall, alfresco dining area, multiple stages and of course, all of the tastiest German food and beverages. The German Sausage Hut will provide a mouth-watering selection of German frankfurters with sauerkraut and freshly baked pretzels. It’s all the very best things.

Garden Kitchen & Bar
Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday throughout October, Oktoberfest will come to life on The Lawn in celebration of German-inspired food, drinks and entertainment. There’ll be live music, colourful performers, costumed entertainers, dancing and yodelling for a thrilling experience. An Oktoberfest themed menu will include warm salted pretzels, Bavarian-style doughnuts, special craft beers available on tap and an exclusive cocktail menu with edible flowers. YUM.

The Bavarian
Steins at the ready. The Bavarian is throwing its biggest and best Oktoberfest bash yet, with six-weeks of traditional feasting, entertaining games and challenges, and quirky paraphernalia. The OktoberBoss menu is on offer and features three delicious courses of signature Bavarian dishes, a one litre stein of beer, a schnapps shot and a limited-edition OktoberBoss show bag. There’s plenty of fun and games happening so pop into your local and get involved.

Raise a stein to celebrate Oktoberfest on the Gold Coast

Ever dreamed of dancing ‘til you drop at one of the world’s biggest cultural festivals but could never seem to make it happen? Well, pop on your very best beer wench threads and begin to up your beer intake because Oktoberfest is coming to the Gold Coast.

Mark Saturday, October 5th in your calendar as the day you will experience the best of German culture right here in our own backyard.

The Gold Coast Sports and Leisure Centre in Carrara will host the multicultural festival for the very first time with attendees set to experience the traditional culture of Munich’s beloved Oktoberfest.

Based on history and festivities from the past, Oktoberfest will deliver a traditional event with a modern twist that’s bound to be a day to be remembered.

The centre will be completely transformed into a Bavarian theme complete with a giant beer hall, alfresco dining area, multiple stages and of course, all of the tastiest German food and beverages.

The German Sausage Hut will provide a mouth-watering selection of German frankfurters with sauerkraut and freshly baked pretzels.

Oktoberfest will offer a fine selection of beverages including traditional German brewed beer by Weihenstephan and specially brewed German beers from Newstead Brewing Co. A selection of wine and other German favourites will also be available.

Of course, the entertainment will also be perfectly themed with German music and dance the perfect way to get amongst the frivolity after a stein or two and there’ll also be a Mr and Mrs Oktoberfest strongman competition.

To ensure the event is as close as possible to Munich’s Oktoberfest, there’ll be big brass bands on show along with some of Australia’s favourite DJs and a few local ones too.
