How to live your best European life on the Gold Coast

How good is it when, in the midst of a Gold Coast winter, you’re staring out the window of your airless office thinking about all the things you’d rather be doing while simultaneously scrolling past everyone’s joyous European holidays snaps on Instagram. The best hey.

Well, while we cannot offer you a sweet little jaunt on the Croatian coast, we (someone else) can offer the next best thing. The chance to win a brand new, shiny red Vespa.

Imagine beep-beeping around our beachside streets, the wind in your hair, pretending you’re on the way to a cliff top bar to sip countless Aperol Spritz’ and inundate your friends with your very own play-by-play.

That’s your very best faux European life right there.

Anyway, all of this is possible thanks to Aviary Rooftop Bar at Southport Sharks.

The Italian-inspired venue (complete with an Italian-esque menu and pizza chef) is a lovely little space to spend an afternoon sipping icy cold tipples overlooking the Surfers Paradise skyline and with the sparkly ocean in the background.

So you should pop in there for a visit regardless but to go in the draw to win said Vespa, all you need to do is drink two Peronis (easy) and you’ve got yourself a ticket.

You can enter as many times as you like (drinking responsibly of course) and entries close on Tuesday August 30th.

Once you’re done soaking up the sweet views at Aviary Rooftop Bar, head on down to Southport Sharks delightful little outdoor space Carmody’s to sample their stunning new menu.

The restaurant and bar is known for their delicious modern Australia cuisine, created by Chef Nathan Hay. The dishes are both beautiful on the eyeballs and packed with all of the mouthwatering flavours.

The team also supports organic agriculture and local businesses and we can confirm that every dish is a winner.

Highlights include Ink Gin and Kombucha Cured Trout with yuzu dressing, beet pickled fennel, sea succulents, edamame, soy caviar. Yes please.

And for dessert, Crushed Meringue with elderflower and yuzu curd, toasted meringue, shortbread, lemon pearls, blood orange sorbet. Also yes please.

So there’s a very good reason to get yourself to Southport Sharks over the next few months.

If you win the Vespa, please take us for a spin.

Thank you, bye.
